Job Overview

The Material Fulfillment Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate allocation of materials for manufacturing work orders while maintaining appropriate on-site warehouse inventory. This position involves daily coordination with global Planning & Fulfillment teams to meet delivery schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact for part availability, managing daily operations, escalating issues, and overseeing execution within the shop floor.
  • Resolve conflicting demands by reallocating parts based on urgency, customer impact, and contract requirements.
  • Collaborate strategically with Planning & Fulfillment and Shop Materials teams to optimize allocation decisions in supply-constrained situations.
  • Lead initiatives to improve processes that enhance customer satisfaction, adherence to delivery timelines, and inventory management, while reducing operational risks.
  • Act as the Oracle order and inventory management system expert, independently resolving system issues, delivering training, and supporting IT upgrades.
  • Perform data-driven analyses to support decisions related to allocation, costs, and inventory, balancing various trade-offs for optimal outcomes.
  • Identify and drive new efforts to improve material availability, process transparency, and customer service responsiveness.
  • Manage demand accuracy and part preparation across different planning horizons to ensure alignment with manufacturing and delivery schedules.
  • Create and maintain precise part tracking dashboards and visual management tools with up-to-date information on critical customer needs.
  • Recognize systemic delivery risks from a business perspective and lead cross-functional resolution efforts focused on root cause elimination and lasting improvements.
  • Guide demand management strategies to preserve order integrity and work-in-progress accuracy amidst supply variability and changing customer demands.
  • Assess obsolescence and part supersession situations, proactively recommending alternative parts to prevent delays.
  • Independently coordinate with sourcing, logistics, receiving, warehousing, and shipping teams to ensure accountability and responsiveness to complex customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business Administration with a minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience in Shop Operations, Materials, or Warehousing, OR
  • High School Diploma/GED with at least 4 years of relevant manufacturing experience.

Required Skills & Attributes

  • Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
  • Demonstrated experience in warehouse, inventory, or material planning functions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Effective interpersonal and leadership skills to influence various stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to make decisions amid complex priorities through problem-solving and collaboration.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and general MS Office usage.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.

Preferred Characteristics

  • Experience with Lean methodologies and/or Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

Additional Information

This position is based in Houston, TX and offers a salary range between $91,400 and $152,200 annually, with geographic differentials applied in some areas. Eligibility for discretionary annual bonuses is provided.
