Key Responsibilities
- Design complex mechanical assemblies and structures, such as tools, special machines, platforms, and lifting devices.
- Produce 2D manufacturing and assembly drawings, cutting lists, with precise functional and manufacturable dimensions including geometric tolerances.
- Expertly use CATIA V5 for sheet metal design, surface modeling, and drafting tasks.
- Apply functional dimensioning methodologies and incorporate standard norm and off-the-shelf components.
- Utilize in-depth mechanical engineering knowledge, especially in material science, welding, joining techniques, heat treatment, and strength theory.
- Handle measurement technology and laser measurement systems effectively.
- Analyze client specifications to develop fitting and alternative design solutions.
- Participate actively in design meetings and reviews with clients.
- Evaluate and verify external 3D designs, technical documents, and drawings.
- Independently prioritize tasks to meet deadlines reliably.
Candidate Profile
- Completed university degree (Diploma, Bachelor, or Master) in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or Construction Technology.
- Strong expertise in custom machine construction, assembly technologies, and standard mechanical components.
- Desirable experience in design calculation and dimensioning of constructions.
- Familiarity with design and compliance standards aligned with Machinery Directive is advantageous.
- Prior extensive work experience—at least seven years—in mechanical engineering design of industrial machinery within engineering environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary project teams and enthusiasm for complex technical challenges.
- High commitment to quality standards and goal-oriented results.
- Fluent written and spoken German with confident technical communication skills is essential.
