Job Overview
This position seeks a Mechanical Engineer interested in working within water treatment and desalination facilities. The role involves comprehensive maintenance and operations support for mechanical equipment critical to water and wastewater processing plants.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems used in water and wastewater treatment.
- Inspect, diagnose faults, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical components such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, compressors, dosing systems, mixers, conveyors, and related equipment.
- Create and oversee implementation of maintenance schedules aimed at increasing equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Use engineering principles to identify mechanical failures and apply best practices for maintenance resolution.
- Manage and coordinate maintenance shutdowns and overhauls with minimal impact on plant operation.
- Monitor equipment performance, providing recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
- Prepare thorough maintenance documentation including reports, failure analyses, and work orders.
- Liaise with cross-functional departments including Operations, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Process to ensure smooth plant functionality.
- Supervise contractors and external maintenance service providers.
- Ensure all activities comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and company procedures.
- Maintain and suggest procurement for essential spare mechanical parts inventory.
- Participate in commissioning, testing, startup, and acceptance processes for new equipment installations.
- Contribute to root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions for equipment issues.
- Support continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing plant reliability and efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Power Engineering.
- Eligible candidates include fresh graduates or individuals with up to 2 years of relevant experience.
- Graduation summary must be Very Good or higher.
- Proficient command of English.
- Knowledgeable in water and wastewater treatment processes, including physical, chemical, and biological treatment methods.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities relevant to engineering challenges.
- Solid computer skills for technical tasks and reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal communication abilities.
- Competent in technical reporting and documentation.
