Role Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable OpenShift Engineer to oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of OpenShift clusters, including control plane, worker nodes, and networking components. This role demands proficiency in managing containerized application deployments, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and automating infrastructure through Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and maintaining OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters including setup and networking.
- Deploying and managing containerized applications, handling image building, registry management, and application lifecycle.
- Designing and operating CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment processes.
- Using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Ansible and Terraform for automating infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Troubleshooting performance, stability, and security issues within OpenShift environments.
- Enforcing security best practices to safeguard clusters and applications.
- Developing automation scripts to optimize OpenShift operations.
- Implementing and maintaining monitoring and logging solutions to ensure cluster and application health.
Required Skills and Experience
- Hands-on expertise with OpenShift including deployment, configuration, and optimization.
- Strong understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration.
- Experience managing ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for logging and monitoring purposes.
- Proficient in creating dashboards and alerts to monitor Kubernetes clusters and troubleshoot via log analysis.
- Experienced with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Skilled in Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Ansible and Terraform.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python and Bash, and/or programming languages such as Go or Java.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus but not mandatory.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities coupled with effective communication for teamwork and troubleshooting.
