About the Role

Based in Dublin City Centre, Codec seeks a skilled Payroll Analyst to manage payroll operations. This pivotal Finance team role demands precision, discretion, and the capacity to thrive in a dynamic professional services setting. The position offers a full-time schedule, with consideration for part-time candidates. It requires a proactive, adaptable individual to collaborate with Finance, HR, and external partners while enhancing payroll processes and controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee comprehensive payroll management for Ireland, Northern Ireland, and the UK, including coordination with third-party processors currently handling NI and UK payroll, with the possibility of transitioning these in-house.
  • Conduct monthly payroll cycles by processing salary adjustments, bonuses, commissions, pensions, benefits, and statutory deductions timely and accurately.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with Revenue mandates, PAYE modernization, and applicable employment laws.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee payroll questions, resolving matters confidentially and promptly.
  • Reconcile payroll data with the general ledger and assist with month-end closing procedures.
  • Maintain and improve payroll controls, guaranteeing audit readiness and adherence to internal policies.
  • Engage with external entities such as payroll bureaus, auditors, and tax consultants.
  • Collaborate with HR on administration related to new hires, departures, and benefits to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Support payroll reporting needs, inclusive of analytics, cost reports, and ad hoc requests from senior management.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements and automation opportunities.
  • Offer flexibility to support other Finance team functions when needed, demonstrating a cooperative and proactive approach.

Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of payroll experience, preferably within professional services or environments involving multiple entities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Irish payroll legislation and Revenue guidelines; UK payroll experience is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage end-to-end payroll functions.
  • Familiarity with payroll software such as Sage.

Key Competencies

  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong compliance orientation.
  • Commercially astute understanding of payroll's impact on financial reporting and business operations.
  • Self-motivated, solution-oriented with the capacity to work autonomously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across Finance, HR, and leadership.
  • Comfortable with a hybrid work model requiring onsite presence in Dublin up to one day weekly and remote working for the remainder.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.

Why Work at Codec

  • Be part of a growing and ambitious technology company with strong governance and leadership.
  • Engage closely with senior Finance and HR leaders in a significant role.
  • Benefit from a flexible hybrid working arrangement.
  • Participate in shaping and enhancing payroll procedures as the company expands.
