Role Overview
The Physiotherapist II will work under the supervision of the Rehabilitation Manager or Senior Manager of Physiotherapy. Key responsibilities include assessing physiotherapy referrals, creating personalized therapy plans, and carefully monitoring patient progress. This position demands strong clinical expertise aligned with evidence-based physiotherapy principles, anatomy, and physiology, supporting patients across all ages.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing advanced, specialized physiotherapy for adult patients within an inpatient post-acute rehabilitation environment. Managing a diverse caseload involving neurological, orthopedic, medical, and deconditioned patients is essential, with a focus on promoting functional recovery, planning discharges, and facilitating smooth reintegration back into the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Line Manager in meeting the strategic and operational objectives of the medical facility.
- Adhere rigorously to JCI, DOH/DHA, and other regulatory standards; maintain confidentiality and professionalism; complete performance evaluations punctually.
- Interpret patient referrals and conduct thorough clinical assessments to diagnose physiological and psychological needs.
- Develop and independently manage complex individualized treatment plans for neurorehabilitation and general rehabilitation cases, including specialized therapies such as gait training, balance improvement, strengthening, respiratory therapy, functional retraining, and equipment prescription.
- Employ standardized outcome metrics to track patient progress and evaluate safety risks continuously, modifying interventions accordingly.
- Ensure all patient documentation is accurate and submitted promptly; manage administrative duties related to billing and insurance; collaborate closely with the rehabilitation team regarding equipment and supply needs.
- Engage in quality improvement projects, assist in developing clinical programs, and contribute to raising physiotherapy service standards while monitoring key performance indicators and data collection.
- Provide mentorship and supervision as needed; commit to ongoing professional development with CME compliance; communicate compassionately with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or recognized Master's degree in Physiotherapy/Physical Therapy.
- At least 3 years of continuous experience post-qualification in physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
- Completion of specialty certification recognized by DOH or DHA.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
