Role Summary
The Security Officer is responsible for implementing and maintaining safety protocols in accordance with the expectations of hotel management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the Control Room operations, including verifying visitors, guests, and contractors and issuing passes post-verification.
- Distribute and log departmental keys after verification, and confirm their return.
- Document and report all security incidents in the Security Management Occurrence log.
- Respond to telephone inquiries courteously and professionally.
- Record and photograph lost and found items, then hand over to Housekeeping if unclaimed.
- React promptly to fire alarm triggers, coordinate with emergency response teams, and complete Fire Alarm Bell Activation Reports.
- Assist with evacuations when required.
- Manage the electronic parking system, including generating daily revenue and settlement reports.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by Security Supervisors or Managers and be prepared to serve as a CERT member as needed.
- Conduct static security duties, such as maintaining a peaceful environment, greeting guests, monitoring traffic and parking, and ensuring authorized access and parking compliance.
- Patrol hotel grounds and buildings regularly for crime prevention, disturbances, and property safety.
- Provide security escorts for finance-related activities and assist during major events or VIP visits.
- Prepare to serve as a CERT member and First Aider during emergencies.
Qualifications and Candidate Profile
- Registration as a Security Officer with the Police Licensing & Regulatory Department (PLRD) and possession of a valid PLRD security license.
- Completion of secondary education and WSQ Certification in Security Operations.
- Certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED.
- Certified as a CERT member under Singapore Civic Defence Force (SCDF) High Risks Installation Tier 1 guidelines.
- At least 2 years of related experience within the hotel industry.
- Outgoing nature and ability to maintain composure under pressure.
- Willingness to learn new skills and knowledge.
- Proficient in spoken and written English; additional language skills are advantageous.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills suited for interacting with all employee levels.
- Service-minded with attention to detail and a curious approach.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment and independently with good initiative.
- Adaptable to change and flexible in a dynamic setting.
- Self-motivated with computer literacy as a plus.
