Senior Data Analyst - Operations & Logistics

Role Overview

Join our team as a Senior Data Analyst specializing in Operations & Logistics to collaborate closely with operations managers, fleet and dispatch teams, data scientists, backend engineers, and business stakeholders. Your key responsibility will be transforming delivery and logistics data into meaningful insights that enhance the order flow from merchants to customers. You will manage critical operational metrics such as delivery times, on-time rates, courier productivity, dispatch efficiency, and delivery costs to pinpoint inefficiencies, predict demand, optimize courier allocation, and suggest improvements for a faster, more cost-effective, and dependable last-mile delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams from operations, fleet, dispatch, product, and engineering to drive data-informed enhancements in delivery speed, dependability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Establish, track, and communicate essential operational KPIs including delivery timeframes, punctuality of deliveries, courier utilization, idle periods, dispatch efficiency, and cost per delivery.
• Interpret complex operational datasets using statistical methods and present clear, actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
• Analyze bottlenecks occurring at every stage of the order process — from acceptance through to drop-off — and advise on targeted process improvements.
• Create demand forecasts and assist with capacity planning to align courier availability with order volume across different geographic zones and peak hours.
• Examine geographic and zonal data to enhance coverage, courier distribution, and last-mile logistics strategies.
• Design and maintain live and historical performance dashboards and visualizations for operational teams.
• Keep abreast of latest trends in logistics analytics, dispatch optimization, and last-mile delivery to maintain competitive advantages.
• Identify improvement opportunities, provide guidance in developing advanced operational features, and mentor junior data analysts.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, industrial engineering, operations research, supply chain management, computer science, or related fields.
• Minimum of five years' experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain analytics within dynamic environments, preferably in delivery, e-commerce, or marketplaces.
• Advanced skills in SQL, Python, and/or R, with proven experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Competence in handling geospatial and time-series data, including mapping and spatial analyses relevant to routes, zones, ETAs, and demand distribution.
• High-level analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a talent for extracting insights from large and unstructured operational datasets.
• Strong communication skills designed to translate complex data into understandable advice aimed at non-technical teams like fleet and dispatch.
• Close attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct data inaccuracies.
• Demonstrated autonomy in managing priorities and meeting deadlines within a fast-paced, real-time operations environment.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills applicable in diverse, multifunctional team settings.

Additional Desired Skills

• Experience in food, grocery, or parcel delivery services highly valued.
• Understanding of dispatch, routing, and batching methodologies including leverage points that optimize last-mile delivery.
• Expertise in causal analytics — discerning true operational impact beyond correlation.
• Proficient in modeling delivery economics at transactional levels, including cost per order, courier remuneration, subsidies, and delivery margins.
• Knowledgeable in demand forecasting, courier capacity planning, and balancing supply with demand.
• Familiar with optimization techniques and fundamental operations research principles such as assignment, routing, and queuing.
• Basic exposure to data engineering pipelines and machine learning models like ETA prediction or demand forecasting.
