Senior Manager Procurement

Overview

This role leads procurement activities within the Technical Strategic Procurement department, with responsibility for strategic sourcing, RFP coordination, contract oversight, and supplier performance management. The position is focused on improving operational effectiveness, controlling costs, reducing risk, and creating long-term value through strong leadership, stakeholder collaboration, and the delivery of sourcing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the procurement team and make sure procurement methods support the wider operational plan and long-range business objectives.
• Create and roll out sourcing plans that improve cost efficiency, compliance, and service quality.
• Design and embed effective procurement operating models and cross-functional processes.
• Use data and analysis to provide practical recommendations that improve procurement and contracting outcomes.
• Apply knowledge of aviation technical certification requirements and related compliance obligations.
• Oversee the complete procurement and contracting cycle for major technical and capital initiatives.
• Handle contract negotiations and monitor supplier and contract performance.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and internal governance standards.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders, technical specialists, and finance teams to align procurement plans with business needs.
• Lead, coach, and develop the procurement team to ensure strong delivery, reporting quality, and compliance discipline.
• Spot opportunities to simplify and improve procurement systems and workflows.
• Drive risk controls and mitigation measures to lower procurement-related exposure.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a similar discipline, along with at least 10 years of procurement experience, including a minimum of 5 years in an aviation setting.
• At least 5 years of proven experience in aviation technical procurement.
• Experience managing procurement for complex technical projects and related contract activities.
• Strong commercial and financial understanding, including whole-life cost modelling.
• Solid experience in project or change management and improving procurement processes.
• Deep knowledge of procurement and contracts management.
• Background in aviation procurement and technical sourcing.
• Working knowledge of Supplier Furnished Equipment (SFE) and Buyer Furnished Equipment (BFE).
• Experience in financial analysis, especially whole-life costing.
• Strong negotiation and contract management capability.
• Understanding of regulatory and compliance matters, including SBs, STCs, and EUUs.
