Role Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions leveraging Snowflake and Microsoft Data Fabric technologies.
- Create and optimize intricate SQL queries, views, and transformations tailored for extensive healthcare datasets.
- Employ Python programming skills for development tasks.
- Develop and oversee data pipelines, semantic models, and data products using Microsoft Data Fabric components, such as Lakehouse, Dataflows, Warehouses, and Pipelines.
- Analyze a variety of healthcare data including claims, eligibility, provider, clinical, and pharmacy data to support reporting, analytics, and generate business insights.
- Collaborate closely with business analysts and stakeholders to convert healthcare business needs into effective technical data solutions.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and performance efficiency while complying with healthcare data standards.
- Conduct root cause analyses of data issues and implement robust and scalable solutions.
- Support user acceptance testing, data verification, reconciliation, and production environment assistance.
- Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and internal data governance policies regarding HIPAA and PHI/PII data handling.
- Participate in design and code reviews, encouraging the adoption of best practices for data engineering and analytics.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in data engineering or software engineering roles.
- Proficient in Snowflake, including data modeling, performance tuning, and SQL optimization.
- Experienced with Microsoft Data Fabric's components such as Lakehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines, and Warehouses.
- Expert-level SQL expertise for data analysis, transformation, and validation.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL/ELT frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with managing large and complex datasets on cloud data platforms.
Core Skills and Competencies
- Expertise in Microsoft Data Fabric technologies (Lakehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines, Warehouses).
- Advanced knowledge of Snowflake architecture and SQL query optimization.
- Proficiency in Python scripting for data-related applications.
- Experience with complex healthcare datasets processing and analysis.
- Understanding of healthcare data compliance and governance standards.
