Primary Purpose
- Support the execution of QatarEnergy Trading’s strategic transformation, aligning initiatives with long-term goals and organizational architecture.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather requirements, design, and implement effective application solutions.
- Oversee product backlogs and coordinate closely with technical teams on solution delivery.
- Facilitate teamwork and communication across IT and commercial departments.
- Engage directly with business teams, ensuring a customer-centric approach and effective communication across various organizational levels and disciplines.
- Assist in evaluating the impact of business changes and help onboard and implement these changes with the relevant teams.
- Provide expert technical support and services related to applications in collaboration with other ICT entities.
Experience and Skills Required
- At least 9 years of professional experience in commodities trading with prominent international oil companies, trading houses, national oil companies, or technology vendors, particularly in areas of change, processes, and technology.
- Proven expertise in C/ETRM systems for designing and deploying solutions that improve trading strategies, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency.
- Comprehensive knowledge of commodity markets, ideally LNG, including trading strategies, organizational structures, processes, risk management, and technological solutions like C/ETRM, Fleet Management, Trading Platforms, and Market Analytics.
- End-to-end understanding of commodities trading, shipping, and finance, with solid knowledge of the entire front-to-back office trade lifecycle.
- Specialization in at least one domain such as Physical LNG Trading, Cargo Operations, Shipping, Derivative and Emission Trading, Trading Risk and Finance, or Portfolio Optimization.
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking capabilities with the ability to independently tackle challenges and make decisions.
- Proven track record in translating business needs into technical requirements and managing development backlogs and related documentation.
- A passion for leveraging technology to advance commodities trading.
- Familiarity with IT standards, best practices, architecture, integrations, and methodologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills, able to convey complex concepts to management, stakeholders, and vendors effectively.
- Advanced proficiency in workplace productivity software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and project management and collaboration tools such as MS Project, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Jira, Miro, and Mural; comfortable working with SQL queries and Excel data.
- Experience with C/ETRM platforms like Openlink, TriplePoint, and Allegro is preferred; knowledge of Planlogic EOS, Veson Nautical IMOS, and SAP is advantageous.
- Exposure to agile frameworks, PMP, or Prince2 certifications is beneficial.
- A postgraduate qualification such as MSc, PhD, or MBA enhances candidacy.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in technology or finance from a recognized international university.
