About the Role
Contribute to building and maintaining the technological infrastructure that supports Tauranga, one of New Zealand's fastest-growing cities. The Systems Engineer will work across a variety of technologies including cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure, servers, storage, backup systems, databases, and enterprise platforms. As part of a collaborative Digital Services team, you will ensure the availability, security, and resilience of critical IT systems for the community and council operations.
Your work will involve enhancing established infrastructure, supporting infrastructure projects, and resolving technical challenges to deliver reliable and secure services.
Responsibilities
- Support and improve modern cloud and on-premise infrastructure that underlies essential Council services.
- Work across a wide range of technologies such as servers, storage solutions, backups, databases, and enterprise platforms.
- Collaborate within a team that fosters innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge exchange.
Requirements
- Experience in supporting and maintaining enterprise-grade infrastructure environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft technologies, cloud platforms, and modern infrastructure services.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to diagnose issues and deploy effective solutions.
- Proven ability to collaborate with technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
- A cooperative approach and an eagerness to contribute to ongoing improvements.
- Dedication to delivering technology services that are secure, dependable, and well supported.
