Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Village Coordinator on a fixed-term contract to join our team at Meadowbank Village in Auckland. This position is pivotal as the main point of contact for residents, assisting the Village Manager and managing multiple community activities and programs. The role offers a varied, engaging environment where no two days are alike, and kindness, empathy, and helpfulness are essential qualities to brighten the daily lives of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison for residents, delivering outstanding customer service and quickly resolving their needs.
- Work closely with the Village Manager to coordinate and ensure the successful completion of various tasks and initiatives.
- Provide daily interaction and assistance to residents, promoting their health and wellbeing.
- Stay informed about village offerings, services, policies, and emergency protocols and effectively communicate these to residents and relevant stakeholders.
- Design and implement customized lifestyle activities and programs to enhance resident engagement and enjoyment.
- Encourage and support residents in using technology such as resident apps and virtual events through workshops and guidance.
- Build a strong community atmosphere by organizing group outings, facilitating resident feedback groups, and establishing solid relationships with external providers and community organizations.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in a comparable role with a passion for exceptional customer service.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills for effective task management.
- Excellent communication skills for professional and courteous interaction with residents and stakeholders.
- Dedication to treating all residents with respect, empathy, and dignity.
- Proficient problem-solving abilities and capacity to multitask efficiently.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
- Competent computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Office applications.
- High levels of empathy and patience when working with older adults, and adaptability to new technologies.
- Applicants must have full legal work rights in New Zealand.
