Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned AML Manager to lead and oversee Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance efforts, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory mandates and industry standards. The incumbent will be instrumental in sustaining a robust AML framework, managing financial crime risks effectively, backing compliance initiatives, and enhancing control mechanisms.
Core Duties
- Lead management of AML, Counter Terrorist Financing (CTF), and sanctions compliance programs.
- Achieve compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and legal regulations.
- Carry out thorough AML and financial crime risk evaluations and suggest risk reduction strategies.
- Formulate, assess, and refine AML related policies, procedures, internal controls, and surveillance mechanisms.
- Oversee implementation and monitoring of Know Your Customer (KYC), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) processes.
- Investigate suspicious transactions or activities and escalate issues as per regulatory mandates.
- Stay abreast of changes in regulations and evaluate their implications on current compliance requirements.
- Compile and deliver AML compliance reports, risk analyses, and relevant management data to senior leadership.
- Facilitate support for audits, regulatory inspections, and reviews both internal and external.
- Conduct AML and compliance training sessions to boost organizational awareness.
- Engage with various internal teams to enforce compliance control measures effectively.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Academic qualification: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Law, Risk Management, Compliance, or closely related fields.
- Professional background: 8 to 12 years of progressive experience within AML, Compliance, Financial Crime prevention, Risk Management, or Regulatory Compliance roles.
- Sector experience: Prior work within Banking, Financial Services, FinTech, or other regulated environments.
- Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of AML/CFT legislation, sanctions, KYC policies, and financial crime risk management techniques.
- Practical skills in conducting AML investigations, performing risk assessments, and compliance oversight activities.
- Experience liaising with regulators, auditors, and senior management.
