Role Overview and Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep of all audio-visual (AV) equipment.
- Set up, install, and configure AV devices such as projectors, microphones, sound systems, lighting, video monitors, cameras, and video conferencing tools.
- Verify that all equipment connections are secure and fully operational before events or presentations.
- Operate AV systems live during events to ensure optimal sound and visual quality.
- Handle live audio mixing, video switching, and lighting management throughout events.
- Conduct periodic maintenance of AV equipment to maintain performance standards.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues when they arise and coordinate repairs or handle repairs directly.
- Support event organizers, presenters, and users with technical assistance for AV setups.
- Assist in event setup and live operations to facilitate smooth execution.
- Coordinate closely with event planners, IT personnel, and other stakeholders to accommodate specific event requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to oversee AV inventory management.
- Keep detailed records of equipment inventory, maintenance schedules, and repairs.
- Document configuration settings, operational protocols, and troubleshooting guidelines.
- Be knowledgeable about recreational facilities, evening programs, and shows, including technical requirements.
- Manage bands and performers during sound checks, stage arrangements, and coordination of artist riders.
Candidate Qualifications
- At least 2 to 3 years of relevant experience as an AV Technician, ideally within luxury hospitality, events, entertainment, or live production environments.
- Educational credentials such as a diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering, Audio Visual Technology, Electronics, or related technical fields are strongly preferred.
- Comprehensive technical expertise in professional audio, video, lighting, and conferencing systems including installation, configuration, operation, and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency with equipment such as PA systems, mixers, amplifiers, projectors, LED displays, wired and wireless microphones, lighting consoles, and video monitors.
- Hands-on experience with live event sound mixing, video switching, lighting control, and event setup.
- Good knowledge of signal flow, cabling, power distribution, and adherence to safety standards.
- Effective English communication skills to provide clear technical support to event stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, event-driven hospitality setting, meeting operational deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail and proactive maintenance approach.
- Willingness to work in rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by event schedules.
