Role overview
Neville Hotels is hiring an experienced bar tender for Ravenport Resort in Curracloe, County Wexford. The position suits someone who works well in a team, communicates clearly, and is comfortable working varied shifts, including late evenings, weekdays, and weekends.
Guest service
- Welcome guests in a warm, professional manner across the hotel and, when needed, greet and seat them in service areas.
- Deliver service that consistently meets the hotel’s 4-star expectations.
- Stay alert to guest needs and provide help proactively, paying attention to the smallest details.
- Handle guest issues and complaints quickly and ensure they are escalated to a supervisor or manager when necessary.
- Maintain awareness of the hotel’s facilities and be able to guide guests accordingly.
Bar operations
- Have strong working knowledge of the department, including opening times, menus, beverage options, and pricing.
- Take orders promptly and accurately.
- Be confident in allergen awareness, dietary needs, and product knowledge.
- Recommend and upsell food, wine, and drinks to support sales across the hotel.
- Ensure adequate stock and mise en place are left ready for the following shift.
Cleaning and presentation
- Polish glassware and tableware thoroughly before service.
- Clean and refill salt and pepper cellars, disinfect tables and chairs, and ensure menus are clean before guests are seated.
- Keep all service spaces spotless during and after service.
- Remove and store dirty linen properly, empty bins, mop or vacuum floors, and clean glass surfaces.
- Keep counters, tabletops, bases, and furniture clean at all times.
- Maintain immaculate service areas for weddings, events, hotel guests, and viewing appointments.
Shift and compliance requirements
This role requires flexibility for shift work, including late evenings, midweek shifts, and weekend availability. Candidates must be over 18 due to the service of alcohol.
Experience
Applicants should bring at least 1 to 2 years of prior bar experience in a similar role.
