About the role
Queensland Rail is a major integrated infrastructure organisation that plays a vital role in supporting Queensland’s communities and economy. The business is guided by a strong focus on safety and performance.
What you’ll do
In the Bridgeworker (Structures/Civil Labourer) role, you will help maintain and repair infrastructure such as steel, timber, and concrete bridges, along with some drainage assets. You will be expected to work safely, maintain quality standards, and contribute to the reliability of the rail network.
This is a field-based position, so you must be comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions and at heights.
Team and location
The position is based with the Mareeba Structures team, which sits within Northern Network Operations. This group is responsible for maintaining the safety and reliability of Queensland Rail’s network.

Roster and salary
The roster is predominantly 8-day shifts away from home camped in accommodation from Monday to Monday, followed by 6 days off. Based on the current roster, earnings can exceed $85,000 plus 12.75% superannuation.
What you need to be considered
You must hold a current C-class driver’s licence, have recent labouring or TA experience, bring a safety-first mindset, and be comfortable working at heights.
