About Docker

Docker is a widely recognized and trusted brand within developer tooling, serving over 20 million users monthly and supporting more than 20 billion container image downloads. Our platform enables developers, from solo entrepreneurs to large enterprises, to efficiently build, share, and deploy applications utilizing Docker Desktop, Docker Hub, and Docker Scout. Operating as a remote-first global team, Docker is innovating at the forefront of AI-driven software development by providing secure environments, verified images, and trusted infrastructure for autonomous workflows.

Role Overview

We seek a motivated Business Development Representative to join us in the EMEA region. This role requires a proactive, self-driven individual skilled at qualifying leads among commercial and enterprise prospects, helping to expand Docker's user base in commercial licensing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with existing Docker users who likely need commercial licenses through strategic prospecting efforts.
  • Understand potential customers’ requirements and challenges.
  • Assess prospects’ interest and fit for Docker’s offerings.
  • Arrange discovery meetings between prospects and sales team members.
  • Consistently meet targets for qualified leads and new business opportunities.
  • Handle incoming inquiries related to Docker products and assess relevance.
  • Create a strong positive impression at each customer interaction by delivering value.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to convey customer feedback and insights.
  • Contribute to team development initiatives and mentoring activities.

Qualifications

  • Fluency in English; proficiency in German, French, or Spanish is advantageous.
  • At least one year of sales experience with proven success.
  • A driven and proactive work approach.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
  • A willingness to learn industry trends and product use cases deeply.
  • Strong integrity and a collaborative mindset.
  • Detail-conscious with a robust work ethic.
  • A four-year college degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

Onboarding and Growth Plan

During the first 30 days, new hires receive an in-depth onboarding including equipment setup, a welcome kit, and a comprehensive training program. Experience with Salesforce, ZoomInfo, Common Room, Outreach, Sales Navigator, and Docker tools is developed as new employees begin core duties such as prospecting, lead qualification, appointment setting, and pipeline management. Support from managers and teammates, including shadowing and collaboration, helps build strong territory strategies.

By the second month, focus shifts to detailed company research, target account identification, multi-channel outreach strategies, and mastering Docker product knowledge. Adherence to team KPIs and evolving prospecting standards are emphasized.

Within three months, representatives are expected to operate independently and proficiently, continually refining messaging, workflows, and daily tasks to maximize success.

Compensation and Additional Details

Base plus On-Target Earnings (OTE) range from €51,800 to €74,000 annually for EU candidates, with equity participation options available. Docker does not provide visa sponsorship for this position.

Employee Benefits and Perks

  • Flexible work arrangements supporting work-life balance.
  • Designated quarterly wellness days and an extended end-of-year wellness break.
  • Ergonomic home office setup support.
  • Generous parental leave policy offering 16 weeks paid leave after six months of service.
  • A monthly technology stipend equivalent to $100 USD (net).
  • Paid time off encouraging personal time and rejuvenation.
  • Stipends available for training, courses, and conferences.
  • Equity grant participation to share in company success.
  • Company-branded merchandise.
  • Medical, retirement, and holiday benefits vary depending on country.
  • A culture emphasizing remote-first collaboration with offices in Seattle and Paris.
