Role Overview: CAPEX Engineering Manager

This role involves spearheading a multimillion-euro annual capital investment portfolio encompassing site engineering and infrastructure projects, including new construction, equipment upgrades, and facility improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive capital investment plan aligned with site strategy and long-term business objectives.
  • Prepare detailed project proposals outlining cost, schedules, and resource needs while monitoring expenditure to maintain budget compliance.
  • Maintain and own the site Facility Investment Plan ensuring it reflects strategic priorities accurately.
  • Lead capital governance including monthly review meetings and project approvals; ensure all projects adhere to company capital management protocols and are recorded in project systems.
  • Serve as Site Duty Holder for construction activities, upholding all safety and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure compliance with financial, engineering, GMP, and audit standards, overseeing capital controls and the annual asset verification process.
  • Manage full project lifecycles from concept to completion, driving cross-functional teams including engineers and contractors for safe, timely, and quality delivery.
  • Oversee contractor and vendor relationships, including selection, negotiation, compliance monitoring, and facilitating contractor forums for performance enhancement.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder engagement with senior personnel across engineering, operations, and finance, providing transparent updates on project status, risks, and outcomes.
  • Drive continuous process improvements in capital project delivery and foster capability development through coaching and training engineers and project managers.
  • Advance a culture of learning, high standards, and best practices in project delivery and capital management.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant company policies and regulatory requirements relating to capital projects, partnering closely with Finance for accurate asset tagging and project closure.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Extensive experience overseeing capital projects with leadership responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated success delivering complex, high-value projects with strong financial stewardship.
  • Proficiency in engineering, construction, contract management, and project management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven stakeholder management capabilities.
