The Coordinator, Dewatering supports the Mining Superintendent by overseeing a skilled shift team accountable for the operation, maintenance, construction, and relocation of dewatering equipment including pit dewatering pumps, dam pontoon pumps, and flocculation/coagulation facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guarantee statutory regulations and health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards are fully observed, with timely reporting of any incidents.
  • Supervise maintenance, construction, and monitoring activities to maintain safe and efficient operations that maximize reliability and uptime.
  • Manage the operation of mining infrastructure equipment ensuring smooth functionality of the dewatering systems.
  • Execute equipment isolation procedures safely and in compliance with supervisory and legal directives.
  • Uphold excellent housekeeping standards across work areas.
  • Achieve KPIs related to timely maintenance, ZEMA water quality compliance, water buffer levels, and HSE performance.
  • Provide thorough, accurate, and documented shift handovers covering KPIs, completed tasks, equipment conditions, and key focus areas.
  • Meet daily work goals aligned with company policies and procedures.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively, monitor progress, and maintain accountability for outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completed Full Grade 12 certificate.
  • Diploma in a Mechanical field is required; a degree is considered an added advantage.
  • Membership in the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) and registration with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB).
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Background in mine dewatering operations or a related environment.
