Job Overview
This role involves physical design and development work on MediaTek's GHz ARM-based microprocessors. Responsibilities include handling physical design and analysis of intricate, timing-sensitive microprocessor partition blocks. Key technical areas cover synthesis, floor-planning, placement and routing, RC extraction, and optimization of timing and power with static timing analysis and power signoff methodologies.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform physical design tasks and development for ARM-based GHz microprocessors.
- Engage in physical design and detailed analysis of complex, timing-critical microprocessor partition sections.
- Apply engineering techniques such as synthesis, floor-planning, place-and-route, RC extraction, and optimize timing and power, including static timing analysis and power signoff.
- Conduct static timing analysis across advanced semiconductor process nodes including 28nm, 20nm, 16nm and beyond.
- Work closely with RTL function designers and physical designers to enhance design elements focusing on timing and power efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Strong understanding of digital design concepts.
- Proficient communication skills, able to collaborate effectively within teams.
- Comfortable with scripting and automation tasks.
- Familiarity with the RTL to GDSII (RTL2GDS) design flow is advantageous.
