Position Overview
The Data Analyst will join the Data Services team under the guidance of the Manager, Data Services, to develop, maintain, and support reporting solutions at Contexture. This role involves transforming approved report specifications into fully functional reports, managing report automation processes, and delivering timely reporting outputs to both internal and external stakeholders. Acting as a technical expert in report creation and deployment, the analyst collaborates across departments to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and alignment with organization-wide reporting standards.
This opportunity is located onsite in Phoenix, AZ; Denver, CO; or Grand Junction, CO, with local residency required. Remote work from home options are available for those based locally.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, create, and sustain reports based on approved business and technical requirements.
- Assist with report rollout, testing phases, and onboarding new users of reporting tools.
- Provide support to internal and external clients through data analysis and reporting tasks, including detailed examination of source data.
- Build and maintain SQL queries, data extracts, and report logic necessary for report generation.
- Perform rigorous report validation and quality checks to guarantee accuracy and completeness.
- Manage the scheduled production and dissemination of reports to customers and stakeholders.
- Investigate and resolve report discrepancies and data inconsistencies with corrective measures.
- Contribute to research and evaluation of data analysis and reporting methodologies, technologies, and tools.
- Maintain documentation for reports, technical specifications, and procedures.
- Analyze diverse data streams, including clinical, claims, social determinants of health, operational, and financial data, to meet reporting needs.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven expertise in developing, implementing, and supporting data reporting solutions and analytical deliverables.
- Track record of managing repetitive report production, distribution, and operational reporting workflows.
- Experience authoring and updating report specifications.
- Solid experience working with relational databases and analytical datasets supporting business intelligence and reporting.
- Proficiency with Python and SQL for data extraction and analysis.
- Strong analytical capabilities across clinical, claims, social determinants of health, financial, and operational data domains.
- Ability to validate data integrity, detect quality problems, conduct root cause analysis, and implement fixes.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in data reporting and analysis solutions.
- Worked with both structured and unstructured datasets of significant size and complexity.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, and Snowflake data storage solutions.
- SQL query optimization and planning experience.
- Competence in handling diverse file formats and encodings.
- Knowledge of secure software development lifecycle, version control, and release management processes.
- Understanding of healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, and CDA.
- Familiarity with healthcare coding systems including LOINC, SNOMED, CPT, ICD-10.
- Experience with project management frameworks like Agile and Waterfall.
- Capability to translate business needs and technical specs into efficient, scalable reporting tools.
- Ability to manage fast-paced, dynamic environments while consistently meeting strict service level agreements.
- Effective solo and team-oriented working style with strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills tailored for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 tools such as OneDrive, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Education and Experience
- At least 3 years of progressively responsible data-related work experience, including 2 years with relational databases and analytical data.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related data-focused field.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Typical office setting with moderate noise levels. The role may occasionally require after-hours availability and limited travel to clients, conferences, or events. The role involves handling sensitive data such as Protected Health Information, Personally Identifiable Information, and financial details, requiring compliance with relevant laws and policies.
Physical demands include frequent communication, moving within the office, sitting for extended durations (around 50% of the time), extensive use of computer equipment, and occasional handling of materials up to 30 lbs.
