Job description
Overview
The Data Analyst collaborates closely with the Manager to fulfill the organization's data analytics and reporting objectives. This position involves extracting, validating, analyzing, and presenting business data to support key initiatives and facilitate informed decision-making across SIJL and its associated units. Core duties include developing and maintaining dashboards, streamlining reporting processes through automation, and ensuring compliance with data governance and security policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support validation of sales and performance data from Investment Advisors, identifying and escalating discrepancies as necessary.
- Compile, update, and disseminate regular reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Maintain a comprehensive reporting inventory, ensuring adherence to all reporting deadlines.
- Extract and cleanse data to derive insights on sales, operations, client behavior, and compliance metrics.
- Contribute to the creation, optimization, and automation of reporting tools and processes, leveraging Power BI and similar platforms.
- Perform ad-hoc analyses to deliver actionable recommendations to management and business units.
- Develop and sustain reporting solutions and automation scripts utilizing Python for data extraction and processing.
- Manage and update SharePoint sites and document libraries to facilitate report accessibility for Sales and Service teams.
- Assist in the design, testing, and implementation of new data workflows, tools, and models to adapt to changing business needs.
- Cooperate closely with the Data Analytics and Reporting Manager to ensure effective delivery of departmental goals.
- Provide support to Sales, Service, and other components with data requests, reporting tool guidance, and training as needed.
- Ensure all reports and data practices comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Maintain vigilance regarding operational, regulatory, and conduct risks within daily responsibilities.
Qualifications & Technical Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related data analyst role.
- Expertise in Power BI, including dashboard creation, data modeling, interactive reports, and complex DAX queries.
- Proficient with Python for data extraction, cleaning, and automation tasks.
- Experience with SharePoint site creation and document library management for reporting purposes.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables), Access, and SQL querying.
- Familiarity with VBA is considered advantageous.
