Role Overview
As a Data Scientist within our central Data Science team, you will leverage your passion and expertise to reinforce our leadership in the fashion and lifestyle sector as a global omnichannel department store.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance and develop digital products, conduct analyses, and foster sustainable customer relationships.
- Collaborate actively in the development of business processes and co-design data science tools with partners.
- Manage your products from conception through to implementation.
- Engage in professional exchanges with data scientists across Breuninger.
Qualifications
- Degree in a numerically and data-driven field, such as Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related discipline.
- Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis and competence in crafting advanced SQL queries; experience with Google BigQuery is advantageous.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks like XGBoost, LightGBM, CatBoost, Scikit-learn, or PyTorch/TensorFlow/JAX; familiarity with cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure, or AWS is desirable.
- Knowledge or willingness to explore modern AI coding assistants and integrate them effectively into workflows.
- Comfortable working in agile settings with adaptability to evolving requirements.
- Driven to find optimal solutions and consistently exceed expectations of both internal and end customers.
- Fluent English skills required; German language skills are a plus.
Team and Work Environment
You will join a motivated and friendly team currently consisting of eight members, fostering an open and collaborative culture, both remotely and in-person. Embedded within the Data Platform Services division, you will have direct access to data in a cloud environment and work closely with data engineers, modelers, and cloud engineers, united by the goal to derive value from data.
