About the Role
MWA Architects is looking to add a Designer to its expanding infrastructure design team based in San Francisco. Our collaborative group creates innovative, sustainable, and resilient buildings for sectors such as water, power, public works, and transportation. This role suits a responsible, enthusiastic, organized individual who can effectively manage multiple intricate projects through various design and construction stages. Key Responsibilities
- Assist through all phases of design and construction on projects under senior staff supervision.
- Create design studies, presentation materials, and produce construction documentation.
- Develop design concepts and technical solutions for project components assigned.
- Support permitting processes and construction management activities.
- Progressively enhance technical skills, maintain keen attention to detail, and exercise sound judgment.
- Participate actively in a cooperative studio culture and uphold MWA's focus on design excellence.
Candidate Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a project designer in small to mid-sized offices, with at least 2 years working on complex technical projects related to industrial, civic, commercial, administrative, operational, laboratory, maintenance, public works, or transportation facilities.
- Architectural non-licensed status with familiarity with California building codes; knowledge of Oregon and/or Washington codes is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- Proficiency with Revit, Bluebeam, SketchUp, 3D modeling software, and related tools.
- LEED accreditation is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work onsite in the San Francisco office from Tuesday through Thursday, with a flexible hybrid schedule subject to team requirements.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is $73,000 to $83,000 annually, determined by skills, qualifications, license status, and experience levels.
