Electrical Foreman

Overview

Dornan Engineering Group, a prominent international engineering contractor operating across Europe, the UK, and Ireland, invites skilled Electrical Foremen to join their team in Athlone, Co. Westmeath. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the execution of pharmaceutical projects within a dependable and growth-oriented company culture where individual contributions are valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct electrical teams to ensure safe, accurate, and timely completion of installation tasks including cabling, containment, terminations, panels, and ATEX compliance.
• Analyze technical documents such as drawings, method statements, and permits to guide the team and detect design conflicts or issues to report to engineers and supervisors.
• Oversee the management of materials and equipment, ensuring prompt procurement, delivery tracking, and effective on-site utilization to prevent project delays.
• Conduct quality inspections and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), pharmaceutical standards, and Dornan’s QA/QC procedures.
• Promote and enforce stringent safety protocols through toolbox talks, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and compliance with site safety and client mandates.

Candidate Profile

• Possession of a recognized electrical trade certificate (e.g., QQI Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate) and at least three years of supervisory experience in electrical installations for large-scale industrial or pharmaceutical projects.
• Comprehensive knowledge of GMP, ATEX, LOTO, and pharmaceutical compliance with demonstrated success in highly regulated settings.
• Proficient in interpreting electrical drawings, P&IDs, loop sheets, and related technical documentation to ensure precise installation.
• Strong leadership and communication capabilities to manage crews, subcontractors, and resolve technical issues efficiently on-site.
• Current safety certifications inclusive of Safe Pass, Manual Handling, MEWP, and advanced supervisory safety training, alongside a proven commitment to fostering a safety-focused culture.
• Experience on industrial, commercial, or pharmaceutical projects with at least two years of post-qualification experience.
• Excellent coordination skills and ability to adapt to fast-paced, milestone-driven environments.
