Job description

Role Overview

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts in Doha, Qatar seeks a dedicated Engineering Supervisor to oversee maintenance, installation, and equipment calibration activities. This role involves preventive maintenance, safety inspections, inventory management, and supporting disaster response protocol development to ensure smooth facility operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and perform preventive upkeep on tools, equipment, and appliances.
  • Calibrate various controls, meters, and gauges for accuracy and safety.
  • Locate and operate all relevant shut-off valves essential for facility safety.
  • Manage ordering and stocking of parts and supplies, maintaining inventory and purchase order records.
  • Inspect machinery and tools for operational integrity and safety compliance.
  • Utilize computer systems to document and retrieve work-related information.
  • Operate power lifting equipment as required.
  • Complete essential life safety checks including fire pump and generator run tests.
  • Conduct inspections on fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems to ensure reliability.
  • Assist in developing protocols for disaster response to enhance safety preparedness.
  • Promptly respond to guest maintenance requests practically and professionally.
  • Support management with employee-related activities such as hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, coaching, and disciplinary processes.
  • Comply with all company policies and safety standards, completing necessary certifications and reporting safety issues.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Deliver courteous guest service by acknowledging and assisting guests and individuals with disabilities appropriately.
  • Foster positive teamwork and address concerns collaboratively to achieve shared goals.
  • Propose and implement improvements to enhance organizational productivity, quality, safety, and cost effectiveness.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, twisting, stooping, and prolonged standing or walking.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Educational background from a technical, trade, or vocational institution.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a related engineering maintenance role.
  • At least two years in a supervisory capacity.
  • No specific licenses or certifications required.
