Job Overview

The Equity Dealer plays a pivotal role in executing client equity trades, monitoring the stock market, delivering market insights, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness in trading activities. This position demands comprehensive knowledge of financial markets, trading platforms, and adherence to regulatory standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently execute buy and sell orders in equity markets.
• Keep track of live market trends, stock performances, and relevant economic news.
• Provide clients with timely market updates and investment-related information.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, addressing all trading inquiries promptly.
• Ensure compliance with stock exchange rules and company internal policies.
• Monitor client portfolios along with margin positions to assess risk and opportunities.
• Collaborate with research and advisory teams to support informed investment decisions.
• Prepare daily trading reports and properly keep transaction records.
• Address trade discrepancies and operational issues without delay.
• Meet targets related to trading volume and client engagement where applicable.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related disciplines.
• Certification such as NISM Equity Derivatives or Equity Dealer Module is preferred or required depending on the employer.
• Prior experience in stock broking, capital markets, or equity trading.
• Strong grasp of equity markets and trading systems.
• Knowledgeable about NSE, BSE, and SEBI regulations.
• Experience with trading terminals and brokerage software platforms.
• Analytical ability and sound decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication skills and client relationship management expertise.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in trade execution.
• Capable of working efficiently in fast-paced and high-pressure environments.
• Basic understanding of technical and fundamental market analysis.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and financial reporting tools.

Experience

Between 1 and 5 years as an Equity Dealer or similar role within capital markets. Experience handling retail or institutional clients is beneficial.

Work Environment
