Role Overview

The company is looking for an accomplished Estimating Manager to take ownership of project cost estimating, bid development, and commercial pricing strategy. This role involves leading estimating activities, aligning inputs from multiple teams, assessing risks, and ensuring estimates are both competitive and financially sound while supporting organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, roll out, and refine estimating methods, standards, and best practices that match business goals and project needs.
• Oversee the creation of conceptual, preliminary, detailed, and final cost estimates for construction, engineering, manufacturing, infrastructure, or industrial work.
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, technical documents, BOQs, and tender packs to build labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead cost models.
• Work closely with engineering, procurement, project management, finance, operations, business development, and leadership teams to prepare precise and competitive proposals.
• Manage tendering and bid activities, including subcontractor and supplier pricing, commercial comparisons, bid analysis, and proposal submission.
• Track performance measures such as estimate accuracy, bid win rate, gross margin, cost variance, turnaround time, and estimating productivity.
• Carry out quantity take-offs, value engineering reviews, benchmarking, risk evaluation, and contingency planning to strengthen estimate quality and profitability.
• Assess project risks, market movements, material price changes, labor availability, and supply chain conditions to produce realistic cost forecasts.
• Maintain estimating databases, cost libraries, historical pricing, productivity benchmarks, and commercial records for ongoing improvement.
• Use estimating tools, BIM, CAD, ERP systems, Microsoft Office, Power BI, and analytics platforms to improve estimating workflows.
• Prepare cost reports, bid reviews, commercial summaries, executive presentations, and strategic recommendations for senior decision-makers.
• Guide, coach, and develop estimators, cost engineers, quantity surveyors, and cross-functional teams while promoting accuracy, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
• A master’s degree or certifications such as CCP, PQS, PMP, or similar credentials are considered an advantage.
• At least 5 years of experience in estimating, cost engineering, quantity surveying, bid management, construction management, or a similar commercial function.
• At least 2 years of experience leading estimating teams, bid preparation efforts, or commercial operations is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of estimating methods, tendering, quantity take-offs, value engineering, procurement, contract management, project costing, and financial analysis.
• Hands-on experience with estimating software, BIM platforms, CAD tools, ERP systems, Microsoft Office, Power BI, cost databases, and project management tools.
• Exposure to FIDIC contracts, construction codes, engineering standards, risk management practices, and digital estimating tools is beneficial.
• Strong analytical, commercial, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, presentation, technical writing, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Capability to prepare accurate estimates while balancing competitiveness, profitability, technical requirements, and project risks.
• Comfort working independently in remote and hybrid work settings.
