About the Position
We are seeking a skilled Drainlayer to join our busy team in Rolleston, Canterbury. This role requires a dedicated professional passionate about civil drainage, responsible for installing concrete and PVC pipelines, constructing manholes, sumps, and other drainage structures. The role involves safe working practices in excavations and trench shields, operating 3 to 20 tonne excavators, and ensuring all drainage systems meet required grades, levels, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install pipelines made of concrete and PVC materials
- Construct drainage features such as manholes and sumps
- Operate excavators ranging from 3 to 20 tonnes safely
- Interpret construction drawings and service plans accurately
- Work safely near live underground services
- Maintain a strong focus on health and safety procedures
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a full Class 2 Driver Licence
- Hold WTR endorsement
- Have at least five years of experience in drainage work
- Be capable of working independently as well as collaboratively
- Demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Maintain physical fitness, reliability, and self-motivation
- Exhibit a positive attitude and commitment to safety
- Preference given to those with CCC Authorisation and NZ PGDB Registration
- Experience with dewatering systems is an asset
- Support for registration and training available for NZ PGDB Registration if needed
