Role Description

As a full-stack developer on the Tendem project, you'll design, develop, and enhance browser-based applications comprising real logic, state management, persistence, and user interfacing. Projects range from habit trackers, budgeting tools, internal dashboards, mini-SaaS products to AI-enhanced apps. Additionally, involvement with standalone Python applications and data processing scripts supporting these tools may arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Create interactive web applications using frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js, or Vue, paired with backend APIs built with Python (FastAPI, Flask) or Node.js (Express).
• Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and persistent storage utilizing SQL databases like PostgreSQL or SQLite, as well as NoSQL options.
• Implement authentication mechanisms, session control, and basic role-based access control as needed.
• Integrate third-party APIs and AI/LLM services including OpenAI or Anthropic to enhance application functionality.
• Manage application state, validate user inputs, and handle error/loading states effectively.
• Build auxiliary standalone Python tools and scripts for data manipulation, API interfacing, or lightweight backend tasks.
• Review, audit, and improve AI-generated full-stack code to ensure security, correctness, efficiency, and maintainability.
• Produce clear, testable code and troubleshoot end-to-end issues spanning frontend, backend, and database layers.

Qualifications and Benefits

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in full-stack web development or deploying interactive web products is essential.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related technical disciplines is advantageous.
• Strong proficiency in modern frontend frameworks and backend architectures with the ability to independently design and ship end-to-end browser-based applications.
• In-depth knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript alongside frameworks like React, Next.js, Vue, or Svelte.

• Competent with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite) and schema design.
• Proficient in REST API development including request validation, error handling, and authentication workflows.
• Familiarity with deployment platforms such as Vercel, Netlify, Render, Fly.io, or Railway.
• Experience integrating large language model (LLM) APIs or AI services into products is highly desirable.
• Strong command of version control systems (Git) and fundamental testing methodologies.
• Detail-oriented mindset committed to building reliable, functional applications beyond mere prototypes.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with a self-directed approach to architect and deliver features.
• A portfolio showcasing delivered web applications is mandatory.
• English language proficiency at an upper-intermediate (B2) level or higher is required.

Work Expectations and Compensation

The workload is anticipated to range between 10 to 20 hours weekly depending on project phases, however, this is an estimate and not guaranteed. Compensation can reach up to $60 per hour equivalent contingent on contribution level and speed. Rates vary across different projects on the platform based on their specific complexity and expertise needs.
