Description de l'emploi

Role overview

This is a newly created payroll leadership position within a business that has expanded quickly over the last six months. The successful person will oversee payroll activity across Australia, Singapore, and the USA, handling a complicated mix of domestic and international payroll requirements.

You will report directly to the Global Financial Controller and be responsible for making sure payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in line with all applicable laws and regulations. The role also involves strengthening payroll operations, keeping employee records up to date, and dealing with payroll-related questions from staff.

Key responsibilities

  • Run full end-to-end payroll for a global workforce of more than 200 employees.
  • Accurately calculate wages, salaries, overtime, allowances, and deductions across several states and countries.
  • Prepare and process commission payments.
  • Check timesheets for accuracy and fix any issues before payroll is finalised.
  • Ensure payroll activities comply with awards, enterprise agreements, Fair Work requirements, and tax legislation.
  • Handle superannuation processing and contributions.
  • Manage PAYG and other statutory payroll obligations, including Singapore income tax reporting and US federal and state payroll tax requirements.
  • Keep up to date with payroll, employment, tax, and statutory rules across all relevant jurisdictions.
  • Respond to employee payroll queries promptly and professionally.
  • Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and month-end deliverables, including tax lodgements, superannuation reconciliations, PAYG reconciliations, payroll clearing account reconciliations, benefit reconciliations, and other statutory reporting.
  • Reconcile payroll information against general ledger accounts.
  • Oversee the yearly review and renewal of Workers Compensation / Work Cover.
  • Review payroll and commission frameworks and look for ways to improve them.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate will have solid experience in a comparable payroll role, ideally with exposure to commission-based pay and international payroll environments. Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory obligations in Australia, Singapore, and the USA is essential, including Fair Work, ATO, IRS, IRAS, 401(k), and superannuation requirements.

Experience working with awards and Enterprise Agreements will be highly regarded, along with familiarity with complex pay, incentive, and commission structures. Previous use of payroll or HRIS platforms such as Employment Hero, Rippling, MYOB, SAP, or similar systems in a high-volume environment is also important.

Opportunity

This is a distinctive chance to join a growing local business at an important stage of its expansion and contribute directly to its ongoing success.

Additional information

  • The business has seen rapid international growth.
  • This is a brand-new role.
  • The position involves complex payroll management across both domestic and international jurisdictions.
