Job Overview
The Heavy Trucks Maintenance Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining the functionality and reliability of heavy trucks and related equipment. This position involves inspecting machinery for faults, diagnosing mechanical and technical issues, and overseeing the maintenance and repair operations to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance within the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough inspections on heavy trucks and equipment to detect mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
- Diagnose equipment failures and determine suitable repair approaches.
- Assign and supervise maintenance and repair duties among technicians.
- Offer technical guidance to maintenance staff during the repair procedures.
- Manage maintenance work orders utilizing the CMMS/ERP systems to ensure their proper and timely execution and documentation.
- Confirm that all maintenance work adheres to manufacturer guidelines and internal protocols.
- Conduct final inspections and functionality tests prior to returning vehicles and equipment to use.
- Ensure repair quality to reduce recurring failures and prevent unnecessary rework.
- Collaborate with the Parts/Warehouse department to guarantee the availability of necessary spare components and materials.
- Evaluate patterns in equipment failures and suggest corrective and preventive actions.
- Support and promote preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives to boost equipment uptime and reliability.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and generate technical reports as required.
- Enforce compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations along with workshop safety standards.
- Engage in continuous improvement efforts to optimize maintenance processes and enhance fleet performance.
- Provide training, coaching, and performance evaluation for technicians to elevate their technical capabilities and work standards.
Experience & Skills
- At least five years of experience in maintenance of heavy trucks or heavy machinery.
- Prior experience leading maintenance technicians and managing workshop operations.
- Practical experience working with computerized maintenance management systems.
- Strong understanding of heavy truck systems including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management capabilities.
- Able to comprehend technical documents, manuals, and engineering drawings.
- Proficient with computer applications and maintenance management software.
- Effective communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and meet stringent operational deadlines.
Additional Information
This role requires onsite presence in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and adherence to company quality and safety standards to maximize fleet uptime and reliability.
