Job Overview

TCS is hosting a walk-in recruitment drive in Chennai seeking experienced Java API Management Developers with 7 to 12 years of professional experience. Candidates should have deep expertise in Java application development, API design, management, integration, and security to support enterprise-grade solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java technologies.
• Implement and manage API lifecycle and governance adhering to organizational standards.
• Integrate APIs with various internal and external systems effectively.
• Establish API security through OAuth 2.0, JWT, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
• Create reusable services to ensure scalable and governed API frameworks.
• Address performance bottlenecks and optimize API response times.
• Collaborate closely with architects, developers, and business teams.
• Assist in API deployment, continuous monitoring, and lifecycle tracking.
• Conduct thorough code reviews to enforce development best practices.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong command of Core Java and Java 8+
• Spring Boot Framework
• RESTful Web Services and Microservices architecture
• Proficiency with API Management platforms like Apigee, MuleSoft, Kong, WSO2, IBM API Connect, Azure API Management
• Expertise in API security standards including OAuth 2.0 and JWT
• Build tools such as Maven and Gradle
• Solid understanding of SQL and database concepts
• Version control using Git or similar tools

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
• Containerization with Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes
• Continuous integration and deployment tools like Jenkins and Azure DevOps
• Experience with Kafka or other messaging technologies
• Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger specifications
• Knowledge of performance tuning and monitoring tools

Candidate Profile

• 7 to 12 years experience in the IT sector with strong Java software development expertise
• Hands-on experience developing and managing enterprise APIs and related platforms
• Comprehensive understanding of API lifecycle management, governance, and security practices
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum methodologies
• Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities
• Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders in complex projects
