Role overview
This position is for an experienced Java full stack engineer with strong ReactJS capability to build and support enterprise-level applications for the Edward Jones engagement. The work spans backend services, frontend interfaces, APIs, and cloud-based components.
Key responsibilities
- Create and enhance full stack solutions using Java on the backend and ReactJS on the frontend.
- Design, implement, and maintain REST APIs and microservices with Spring Boot and Spring JPA.
- Develop modern, responsive, and accessible UI components using React along with current JavaScript/TypeScript practices.
- Connect applications with Kafka-based messaging systems and Azure cloud services.
- Work with MS SQL databases and apply effective data modelling approaches.
- Adopt microservices design principles and API gateway conventions.
- Partner with tech leads, product owners, scrum masters, and QA team members in an agile environment.
- Take part in code reviews and help strengthen engineering standards.
- Assist with CI/CD integration and DevOps-oriented workflows.
Experience and skills required
- At least 7 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring JPA, and REST API development.
- Proven experience building frontend applications with ReactJS and modern web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Experience with API development, gateway patterns, and system integration approaches.
- Working knowledge of Kafka, Kubernetes, MuleSoft, and Azure cloud platforms.
- Experience working with MS SQL and general cloud best practices.
- Understanding of microservice-based architecture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related discipline is preferred.
Additional preference
Candidates with prior experience in financial services are preferred. ReactJS experience is considered more important than experience with other frontend frameworks.
