Role overview
The health centre is looking for a laundry worker to handle day-to-day laundry operations in a hospital environment. The role is based on site in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, and all work must be completed at the physical location with no remote option.

Education and experience
A secondary school graduation certificate is required. Candidates should have 1 year to less than 2 years of related experience.
Work environment
This position is carried out in a hot, noisy and odorous setting. The work is in a hospital or health institution laundry area, and applicants should be open to relocation if needed.
Key duties
- Run dryers and blow-drying equipment as part of the laundry process.
- Measure, combine and apply detergents, dyes, bleaches, starches and other cleaning chemicals and solutions.
- Fold shirts, sheets and similar items by hand and place them into bags.
- Identify and document any damaged items or items that were not cleaned or laundered correctly.
- Follow infection-control procedures at all times.
- Handle and store hazardous products safely and according to procedure.

- Criminal record check is required.
- A valid driver's licence is required.
Physical demands and working conditions
- Attention to detail is important.
- The job moves at a fast pace and may involve a large workload.

- The role is physically demanding and repetitive.
- Standing for long periods and working under pressure are part of the job.
- Weight handling may be up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
