Position Overview
We are seeking a Logistics Assistant based in Dubai, UAE, to provide essential support in import and export operations, shipping documentation, ERP transactions, and overall logistics coordination. This role involves active collaboration with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs officials, and internal teams to ensure efficient and compliant logistic workflows.
Core Duties
- Prepare and oversee all import and export shipping documents diligently.
- Coordinate shipments via sea, air, and land with freight forwarding agents and customs clearing agents.
- Generate purchase orders, manage Goods Received Notes (GRNs), and process logistics invoices through ERP software.
- Handle Letter of Credit (LC) paperwork, including submissions and amendments in cooperation with banking partners.
- Assist with stock verification, maintain accurate inventory records, and monitor logistics expenditure.
- Collaborate with customs authorities, chambers of commerce, insurance providers, suppliers, and internal departments for seamless operations.
- Ensure shipments comply with company policies and adhere strictly to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
- Minimum of four years’ experience in logistics, shipping, or import/export functions.
- Well-versed in documentation for import/export, customs clearance protocols, Incoterms, and LC procedural management.
- Familiarity with ERP platforms such as Dynamics 365, SAP, or Oracle is required; Dynamics 365 experience is preferred.
- Proficient in English; knowledge of Arabic is considered an advantage.
- Understanding of JAFZA or UAE customs regulations is highly desirable.
Additional Information
This position reports directly to the Logistics & Warehouse Manager within the Commercial Department. Candidates will be subject to screening questions related to LC documentation experience, ERP system usage, UAE customs knowledge, current and expected salary, and notice period requirements.
