About Elk Valley Resources and Glencore

Role Overview
Reporting to the Supervisor of Maintenance Planning, the Maintenance Planner will devise detailed work plans aligned with maintenance strategies and mining needs to enhance Maintenance Department efficiency and performance. This position demands excellent communication and interpersonal capabilities, self-motivation, teamwork, the ability to multitask, prioritize competing demands, and stay organized within a dynamic work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with and comply with health and safety programs and policies.
- Maintain job plans, task lists, work packages, and maintenance strategies within the CMMS system.
- Ensure work backlog accuracy, considering needs for parts, labor, permits, drawings, facilities, equipment, tooling, and instructions.
- Produce and maintain precise forecasts respecting maintenance strategy guidelines.
- Support monthly cost forecasting, annual budget creation, and expenditure analysis.
- Collaborate frequently with maintenance personnel to develop or refine work packages.
- Monitor and report Key Performance Indicators to identify continuous improvement possibilities.
- Manage equipment commissioning, decommissioning, and associated maintenance programs.
Candidate Requirements
- At least five years experience in maintenance operations.
- Digital proficiency including experience with CMMS and Microsoft Office applications.
- Between five to seven years post-graduation experience, with a minimum of three years in facility maintenance planning, scheduling, or supervision within heavy industrial sectors such as mining or process plants.
- Certification such as CMRP or MMP is advantageous.
- Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's license or equivalent.
