Maintenance Preservation Supervisor

Job Overview

This role involves managing and overseeing the preservation processes for mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment throughout project execution. The supervisor ensures equipment remains in optimal condition by applying effective preservation methods, continuous monitoring, and thorough documentation, thus facilitating a safe and efficient project handover.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Project Preservation Plan covering static and rotating equipment, piping systems, electrical and instrumentation components, capital spares, and special tools.
• Maintain and update equipment logs within a Preservation Management System (PMS) such as Hexagon, WinPCS or similar platforms.
• Consistently observe environmental factors like humidity and temperature, reporting any degradation or irregularities to warehouse and site management promptly.
• Supervise storage conditions (short and long term) of mechanical, EIT, capital spares, and special tools and carry out required preservation treatments.
• Track preservation activities with records using preservation sheets and maintain accessible preservation histories until equipment handover.
• Verify correct preservation application and ensure formal recording into the database system.
• Confirm availability and adequacy of tools and equipment needed to meet preservation standards.
• Provide daily reports directly to the Preservation Lead.

Qualifications and Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree or comparable credentials in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Between 5 to 10 years of relevant experience, preferably within oil and gas or major EPC projects.
• Strong knowledge of preservation techniques such as Vapour Corrosion Inhibitors (VCI), nitrogen blanketing, protective coatings, and understanding of material datasheets.
• Familiarity with a variety of preservation methods, understanding associated risks and hazard mitigation.
• Proven leadership and effective communication skills.
• Competence in reporting and data management using word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and email applications.
• Capability to perform in complex multicultural project environments.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
