Position Overview

We are in pursuit of a motivated and adept Mechanical Design Engineer to join our e-mobility division. This role entails the creation, enhancement, and optimization of mechanical and high-voltage components and assemblies specifically for electric vehicles, emphasizing performance, safety, and ease of production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and advance mechanical and high-voltage parts and assemblies related to EV power electronics such as HV boxes, inverters, powertrains, and battery subsystems utilizing CAD platforms, primarily Creo; familiarity with CATIA is advantageous.
  • Possess detailed product expertise in Inverter, On-Board Chargers (OBC), and DC-DC converters.
  • Perform structural, thermal, and vibration analyses with FEA/CAE tools to enhance design robustness, longevity, and weight efficiency.
  • Collaborate across electrical, software, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to integrate mechanical solutions seamlessly and ensure manufacturability.
  • Develop comprehensive engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials adhering to standards such as ASME Y14.5.
  • Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis ensuring precision fit and operational functionality of assemblies.
  • Support phases of prototyping, testing, and validation, assessing test outcomes to refine designs.
  • Investigate feasibility and select materials optimizing cost efficiency, weight, and performance.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles throughout development.
  • Engage in design reviews, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Design Validation Plan (DVP) tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline (Bachelor’s or Master’s).
  • Between 3 to 5 years’ experience in mechanical design, preferably within automotive or electric mobility sectors.
  • Expert proficiency using 3D CAD software such as Creo and CATIA combined with knowledge of Product Data Management (PDM) or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
  • Solid foundation in mechanical engineering fundamentals—including statics, dynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and materials science.
  • Hands-on experience with simulation tools for finite element and computer-aided engineering analysis.
  • Understanding of diverse production methods including machining, casting, stamping, injection molding, and additive manufacturing.
  • Practical knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving capabilities, and excellent communication skills.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic, cross-functional team atmosphere.
