About The Role

Alignerr is collaborating with premier AI research institutions to develop highly sophisticated AI models capable of advanced technical reasoning. This position calls for mechanical engineering professionals whose specialized knowledge will influence the AI's understanding of complex physical phenomena including fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, structural mechanics, and finite element analysis (FEA). This contract role offers the flexibility of remote work and self-managed schedules.

Responsibilities

• Devise intricate engineering problems related to FEA, heat transfer, kinematics, material science, and mechatronics to rigorously evaluate AI capabilities.
• Compose detailed, stepwise reference solutions that function as benchmarks for AI training and validation.
• Examine AI-produced CAD logic, thermodynamic proofs, and material data to verify accuracy, safety, and conformity with industry standards such as ASME and ISO.
• Detect logical inaccuracies including incorrect force applications or breaches in energy conservation, providing structured critiques to enhance AI reasoning.
• Operate autonomously and asynchronously, managing your workload independently within a flexible timeframe.

Candidate Profile

• Possession or pursuit of a Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Solid grasp of core subjects such as solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, CAD/CAM systems, or manufacturing workflows.
• Clear and precise technical communication skills, especially in written form.
• Exceptional attention to detail, especially regarding mathematical proofs, unit conversions, and physical constraints.
• No prior experience with artificial intelligence necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in data annotation, technical documentation, or evaluation methodologies.
• Familiarity with engineering software like SolidWorks, MATLAB, or ANSYS.
• Knowledge of engineering regulatory bodies including ASME, ISO, and SAE standards.
