About the Role
A prominent research and development organization located near Frankfurt is in search of a Network Administrator to become an integral part of its IT department in Offenbach am Main. This role requires overseeing and sustaining the organization's network infrastructure, ensuring security, and smooth IT operations, while also participating in various IT infrastructure and network projects. Candidates are expected to have a robust knowledge of networking technologies and a strong desire to enhance their technical skills.
Main Duties
- Manage and monitor the organization's LAN, WAN, and WLAN network infrastructure effectively.
- Oversee firewall configurations and uphold network security protocols.
- Offer technical guidance and support across company-wide IT project initiatives.
- Administer, observe, and maintain Windows and Linux servers along with storage systems.
- Identify and resolve network and infrastructure issues to maintain system stability.
- Analyze system performance metrics and suggest enhancements.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to support IT requirements aligned with business objectives.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of two years' practical experience working with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and Cisco network hardware.
- Relevant IT certification, such as Fachinformatiker or comparable IT training.
- Background in network administration with practical skills in Cisco switches, routers, and Fortinet firewalls.
- Strong familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Proficiency in English and German languages at C1 level or higher.
- Excellent analytical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication capabilities coupled with a team-oriented attitude.
- Motivated to learn emerging technologies and grow professionally within the IT field.
Employment Details
- Workplace Location: Frankfurt, Germany in an office setting.
- Employment Type: Full-time, permanent position.
- Work Schedule: Monday through Friday.
- Compensation: Annual salary ranging between €60,000 and €70,000, dependent on experience.
