Role Overview
This position involves providing IT support primarily on-site at offices in Germany and the UK, focusing on hardware management, employee onboarding/offboarding support, and daily maintenance of office technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver on-site IT assistance including distribution, collection, repair coordination, and basic setup of computing equipment and mobile devices for employees.
- Support preparation of office equipment and installation of software for new staff, including training related to onboarding and offboarding procedures.
- Perform routine checks and minor upkeep of meeting room devices and printers, as well as assist during meetings with IT support.
- Collaborate on IT asset audits, labeling, record maintenance, and oversee the local IT inventory warehouse.
- Troubleshoot basic issues related to software, hardware, and network on desktops, escalating complex problems to headquarters IT team for in-depth diagnosis.
- Execute on-site operational tasks such as equipment replacement, restarting network devices, and managing logistics and deliveries under headquarters guidance.
- Coordinate with local vendors and courier services as required.
- Handle additional daily office IT support duties as assigned.
Candidate Requirements
- Must be a current undergraduate or postgraduate student, or other part-time worker, available to work on-site one fixed day weekly as per business requirements.
- Good communication skills in English and the local language are essential.
- Proficiency in Windows OS and Microsoft 365 with basic troubleshooting capabilities for computers and office hardware.
- Highly responsible, diligent, with excellent service orientation and communication abilities enabling independent completion of on-site tasks.
- Preferred candidates have a background in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields, with experience in helpdesk or desktop support roles.
- Familiarity managing MacBook and Windows devices and prior experience in corporate or campus IT service environments is advantageous.
- Chinese language skills are considered a plus.
- The role primarily involves executing on-site operational work; resolving complex technical issues will be handled remotely by the expert IT team based in China.
