Private Equity Associate

About the Role

This position is for a Private Equity Associate based in San Francisco, CA, with a prominent middle-market private equity firm. The firm specializes in collaborating with founder- and family-owned industrial companies, focusing on driving growth through operational value creation.

Primary Responsibilities

• Analyze investment prospects through detailed financial assessments, sector research, and commercial due diligence processes.
• Develop and update comprehensive financial models such as leveraged buyout (LBO), operational forecasts, and valuation models.
• Assist in managing deals from their initial evaluation to the final closing stages.
• Prepare materials and contribute to recommendations presented to the investment committee.
• Collaborate with management teams of portfolio companies to support strategic projects, pursue add-on acquisitions, and track performance metrics.
• Conduct market analyses to pinpoint potential investment opportunities specifically within the industrial sector.

Candidate Qualifications

• Possess between two to four years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or associated investment roles.
• Exhibit strong capabilities in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and analytical reasoning.
• Have a proven record in evaluating and executing mergers and acquisitions (M&A) or leveraged buyout (LBO) deals.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
• Show clear enthusiasm and understanding of middle-market investments and industrial sector businesses.
