About the Role and Organisation
Join a globally recognized leader in product certification celebrating 125 years of advancing standards and trust. This role offers the chance to work with leading manufacturers in various product sectors such as Electrical/Electronics, UPVC, Glass, Doors & Windows, Structural Steel, Concrete, Aggregates, and other construction-related products. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive product certification assessments ensuring compliance with BSI’s rigorous schemes and Kitemark standards. This opportunity provides extensive travel within the UK & Ireland and occasional overnight stays, requiring a field-based presence covering London, Home Counties, Berkshire, Surrey, and Kent.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and lead product certification assessments / audits ensuring compliance with quality and certification standards.
- Prepare detailed assessment reports and communicate findings clearly to clients, explaining decisions and corrective actions.
- Make recommendations regarding certificate issuance, re-issuance, or withdrawal following company procedures and timelines.
- Take full ownership of nominated client accounts to foster effective partnerships, ensure outstanding service delivery, and facilitate account growth.
- Manage and brief assessment teams to maintain high-quality service and promote strong relationships within the team and with clients.
- Collaborate with support teams to guarantee client records are accurate and internal information requirements are fulfilled promptly.
- Plan and organize workload efficiently to optimize time and maximize revenue-generating activities.
- Commit to an extensive onboarding process designed to achieve Lead Assessor accreditation.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- At least four years of relevant industry experience within a product manufacturing environment, emphasizing quality management or product certification.
- Educational background in engineering, construction, manufacturing or related disciplines is preferred.
- Experience auditing or assessing products against established standards.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently across the UK and occasionally throughout Europe.
- Familiarity with quality management system auditing processes, particularly ISO 9001 standards.
- Possession of Lead Auditor ISO 9001 certification is highly advantageous.
