About the Opportunity
We invite motivated individuals to join our sawmill manufacturing facility located in Elko, British Columbia. This entry-level position offers on-the-job training and a fast track for advancement within the company. You will be part of a dedicated team working alongside industry leaders in forestry products.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform tasks such as shoveling, lifting, carrying boards, and clearing debris while maintaining site cleanliness and braving outdoor conditions.
- Rotate across different duties within your work area in the manufacturing plant, ensuring accuracy and timely production according to schedules.
- Apply your skills to troubleshoot issues and communicate effectively with team leads and maintenance staff to resolve problems.
- Contribute actively to fostering a safe working environment for coworkers, visitors, and customers.
Required Skills and Attributes
- Strong orientation toward workplace safety.
- Capacity to carry out repetitive manual work for extended periods including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, shoveling, climbing stairs, and bending.
- Some familiarity or experience with machinery and industrial equipment is beneficial but not compulsory.
- Excellent collaboration and teamwork abilities.
- High attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a base hourly wage of $34.875.
