Description de l'emploi

About MSL Engineering Ltd.

MSL Engineering Ltd is a contractor specialising in mechanical engineering that prioritises superior workmanship, safety standards, high quality, and dependability while aiming to exceed client expectations. Operating with principles of honesty, respect, and integrity, the company strives to establish long-term partnerships that benefit clients, employees, and the community alike. Their vision is to achieve global recognition as a leader in mechanical project management, engineering design, and offsite modular fabrication by consistently delivering innovative and outstanding project solutions.

Role Overview

The Project Manager (Mechanical) will lead the MSL Project Team to ensure that project deliverables are accomplished safely, efficiently, within schedule, and comply with the highest quality benchmarks. This position includes developing construction execution plans, detailed schedules, and subcontractor work scopes as necessary while following MSL's Project Management framework and contributing to its ongoing refinement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Project Director.
  • Take active responsibility for managing health and safety issues on the project, enforcing company safety management protocols.
  • Oversee work practices to ensure the well-being and safety of employees, contractors, clients, and others affected by project operations.
  • Manage all project phases—from initiation through planning, execution, monitoring, controlling materials, subcontract packages, and craft requirements.
  • Lead the onsite management team comprising Construction Manager, Engineers, and Supervisors.
  • Collaborate with the Scheduler, Engineers, and Construction Manager to create constructability reports and project schedules.
  • Establish subcontractor work scope plans alongside Quantity Surveyors, involving scope creation, tendering, awarding contracts, and controlling subcontractor costs, schedule, quality, and safety.
  • Coordinate with workshops for prefabrication scheduling, prioritization, testing needs, and documentation.
  • Provide weekly and monthly professional progress reports to clients and their representatives.
  • Work closely with Quantity Surveyors on cost control, including variations pricing, reworks, progress reports, and client and subcontractor negotiations.
  • Participate in internal and client meetings to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Oversee time tracking and adapt to site change requests promptly.
  • Allocate resources to ensure compliance with safety, technical specifications, and design requirements.
  • Supervise QA/QC teams to confirm compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and contractual obligations.

Candidate Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Mechanical Project Manager is mandatory.
  • A minimum of five years' relevant senior mechanical or project engineering experience is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience handling mechanical construction projects, especially in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Semiconductor, or Oil & Gas sectors.
  • Preferably experienced working with mechanical contractors rather than consulting engineering firms or client-side roles.
  • Hands-on experience with construction-stage activities such as piping fabrication, installation, pressure testing, and equipment setup.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or a related field preferred.
  • Professional project management credentials like PMP or IPMA-D are advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Navisworks or similar software tools.
  • Completion of Management of Safety in Construction (MSIC) training is desirable.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong attention to detail and dedication to high-quality standards.
  • Collaborative and personable team player attitude.
  • Solid project management and planning capabilities.
  • Capable of multitasking in fast-paced environments.
  • Highly organized with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership.
  • Decisive, able to make informed decisions even with incomplete information.
  • Skilled in negotiation and relationship building with clients and subcontractors.
