Overview
We are looking for a Quality Engineer for site operations to join our expanding team based in the UAE. The primary responsibility is to ensure that all construction activities comply with established quality assurance and control protocols on-site. The role requires close cooperation with site management, contractors, and other stakeholders to guarantee adherence to technical specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce quality control procedures for construction activities, ensuring conformity with approved plans and specifications.
- Conduct site inspections and manage testing of materials, equipment, and processes to verify compliance with quality standards, accurately documenting and reporting results.
- Detect, record, and manage non-conformance issues, collaborating with site teams to implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Keep thorough and precise records of all inspections, tests, reports, and deviations; deliver regular quality control reports to project leadership.
- Communicate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure quality standards are consistently met and resolve any quality-related concerns.
- Assist with internal and external audits to assess adherence to project specifications, national regulations, and international standards such as ISO 9001.
- Identify opportunities for enhancement in quality processes and contribute to initiatives that improve overall project delivery quality.
- Address client and stakeholder quality concerns in a timely and professional manner, supporting client reviews and inspections as needed.
- Provide quality awareness training to site personnel, ensuring understanding of quality requirements and procedures.
Candidate Profile
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: Over 8 years in quality engineering, including at least 2–3 years in site-based roles within construction projects in the UAE or the Gulf Cooperation Council region.
- Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of quality management systems (QMS), construction industry standards, and ISO 9001; experience with material testing, inspections, and assurance processes; knowledge of construction materials and inspection methods.
- Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills for producing clear reports and engaging with diverse project teams, contractors, and clients.
- Problem Solving: Proficient in analytical thinking with a talent for diagnosing issues, proposing solutions, and ensuring follow-through.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent precision ensuring that quality standards are consistently met throughout construction stages.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software like Procore or Aconex.
- Languages: Fluency in English (written and spoken); Arabic language skills are advantageous.
- Preferred Credentials: Certifications in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, CQI); familiarity with UAE construction regulations, large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects, and sustainable construction practices such as LEED or Estidama.
