Team Overview

The Demand Experiences team develops platforms that maximize consumer value through engaging offers while supporting sustainable growth for merchants and various Grab businesses. Our systems facilitate millions of transactions across Southeast Asia, with team members located in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore.

Role Summary

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer passionate about developing AI-powered tools and agents that streamline workflows and reduce manual effort. This role involves ownership throughout the project lifecycle and collaboration across teams. The position reports to an Engineering Manager II and is based onsite in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop AI agent systems and large language model (LLM) powered tools that automate team tasks and reduce manual work.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to understand requirements and deliver product features end-to-end.
• Write reusable, scalable, and testable code to ensure timely, high-quality product delivery.
• Integrate LLM APIs and prompt patterns into existing backend services to address business challenges.
• Work closely with quality assurance to fulfill product standards and ensure deployment stability.
• Review peer code, provide constructive feedback, and elevate engineering standards.
• Participate in on-call rotations to diagnose and resolve production issues promptly.
• Offer technical guidance and share knowledge within the team.

Qualifications and Skills

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience designing and scaling distributed systems in high-impact, consumer-focused areas such as advertising, subscriptions, marketing technology, or rewards.
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals including algorithms and data structures.
• Proficiency in programming languages with a willingness to work in Golang.
• Hands-on experience developing applications involving LLMs, prompt engineering, function calling, or agent frameworks.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance team productivity and accelerate business growth.
