Job Overview

The SPM Automation and Process Kaizen Engineer at Alkraft Thermotechnologies is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) and factory automation systems, alongside leading process improvement initiatives to boost manufacturing productivity, quality, safety, and cost efficiency. This role facilitates reducing manual interventions through automation and promotes Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen activities within the production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceive and execute automation projects focused on robotics and SPM solutions.
• Champion productivity enhancement and process optimization efforts.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement measures such as Kaizen, 5S, SMED, and VSM.
• Elevate quality, safety standards, ergonomics, and operational efficiency in manufacturing.
• Assist digital transformation and Industry 4.0 adoption initiatives.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate new manufacturing technologies.
• Conduct feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and design automation concepts suited for manual operations.
• Manage vendor coordination through design, FAT, SAT, and commissioning phases.
• Validate machine performance including cycle times and process effectiveness.
• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, including workstation layout and flow, standardization, and error-proofing (poka-yoke).
• Create and monitor project plans, budgets, and schedules ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Ensure machine validation complies with safety and quality requirements.
• Drive cost-reduction through optimized automation and process improvements.
• Enhance operator safety via ergonomic solutions and machine safety protocols.
• Develop and evaluate vendor technical specifications, proposals, and coordinate acceptance testing.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 4 to 6 years of experience in manufacturing engineering with a focus on automation, SPM design, robotics, pneumatics, and process improvement.
• Preferred experience in automotive manufacturing.

Technical Skills

Eligibility

Applicants must hold a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Automation Engineering and have relevant experience in manufacturing automation and process improvement.
